Borderless Desk / note 3

Keeping move documents findable

A review of settling in should explain the transition to “Planning”, rather than treating the label as self-explanatory. Arrival completes the journey but often starts another set of practical tasks: access, utilities, local routines and document organisation. Group work by location and dependency. Keep administrative tasks distinct from personal preferences and professional advice.

Review the next move

Borderless Desk explores relocation checklists that follow a move through preparation, travel and settling in.

Example: Settling in

The illustrative record contains local routines. Its state is planning. Ask what evidence supports that state, which detail is still uncertain and whether the next person could understand it without reading a separate message thread.

Questions for a working review

A small exercise

Take one recent relocation planning example from your own process. Write its context without using a status label, then add the label separately. If the two contradict each other, investigate the source before updating the record. Compare the result with “Before travel” in the demonstration to see which distinctions your process needs.

These are planning notes. The specimen is illustrative, and the preview does not process live work.
